Mitt Romney Still An Outsider To Topple Obama In US Election Betting
While Mitt Romney may have the Republican Presidential Nomination under control, he is still the outsider to win the US Presidential election, priced at $2.75 behind Barack Obama at $1.45 with online bookmaker sportsbet.com.au.
Although the Republican Presidential Nomination is still officially open, Romney, whom sportsbet.com.au had paid out early on to win back in January, is now into just $1.01 with Ron Paul next in the market at $34.
“Romney has seemingly taken one big step, but now comes the much tougher task of becoming President,” said sportsbet.com.au’s Shaun Anderson.
“At this stage all the money is with Obama, but plenty can change between now and November.”
And while the battle for the top job is only just beginning, Joe Biden is the short priced favourite to remain as the Democrat Vice Presidential Candidate, priced at $1.07 ahead of Hillary Clinton at $8.00.
The Republican Vice Presidential Candidate race looks much closer, with Rob Portman the $2.62 favourite ahead of Marco Rubio at $4.50, with Paul Ryan also given some chance at $9.00.
Sarah Palin and Donald Trump are also considered outsiders at $67 and $81 respectively.
